New Route of the Day – Americas (5 February 2026): Porter Airlines between Montreal and Nassau

Porter Airlines introduced seasonal flights between Montreal and Nassau on Thursday 5 February. The 2,290-kilometre service will be maintained 3-weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with E195-E2 aircraft. The airline faces competition on the route from Air Canada, which runs daily operations.

Porter Airlines developing second Montreal base

Porter Airlines had over 1.15 million seats on its Montreal flights last year, making it the fourth-largest airline at the airport with a 4% capacity share.

In 2025, Porter Airlines continued to build its presence at Montreal Airport as part of its broader expansion beyond its original Toronto-centred network. From Montreal, Porter has been operating a mix of domestic and US routes, including existing services to key Canadian cities such as Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax and Toronto alongside seasonal leisure connections to sun destinations like Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers. Additionally, for the summer 2025 schedule Porter introduced a new year-round service between Montreal and New York EWR.

Porter is currently developing a second Montreal base at the upcoming Montreal Metropolitan Airport (IATA code MET) in Saint-Hubert. It is currently co-developing its terminal facilities at the airport.
