New Route of the Day – Americas (5 November 2021): Swoop between Toronto YYZ and St. Pete-Clearwater
Canadian carrier Swoop launched a new weekly service between Toronto YYZ and St. Pete-Clearwater in Florida on Friday 5 November. Frequency is set to increase to 3-weekly (Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays) from the middle of January. The 1,770-kilometre route will be flown using the LCC’s 737-800s and faces no direct competition. St. Pete-Clearwater is a new addition to Swoop’s network. It will also add service there from Hamilton from 9 November.
By the end of W21/22, Swoop will be offering non-stop service from Toronto YYZ to 14 destinations of which five are in Canada (Abbotsford, Edmonton, Halifax, Kelowna and Victoria). The nine international routes are split between the US (three routes to Orlando SFB, Phoenix AZA and St. Pete-Clearwater), Mexico (three routes to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and San Jose del Cabo), Jamaica (Kingston and Montego Bay) and the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana).
