What they said
Drew Wells, Chief Commercial Officer at Allegiant, said: “We’re thrilled to continue Allegiant’s growth by adding these new routes. Our mission has always been to connect travellers to world-class destinations at an affordable price. These additions provide convenient options for leisure travellers and reflect our commitment to expanding service where demand is strong.”
JD Roberts, Airport Business Manager at La Crosse Regional Airport, added: “We couldn’t be more excited to have Allegiant begin service at LSE! It really showcases our area’s passion for travel and adventure, and we’re proud to see Allegiant investing in the La Crosse area. This is a tremendous win for the Coulee Region!”
La Crosse gets first new route in three decades
The arrival of Allegiant at La Crosse is significant as it marks the first new service at the Wisconsin airport in thirty years. The LCC will further expand its operations with the introduction of flights between Orlando SFB and La Crosse on 21 May. The new services are being subsidised by both the airport and the city.
Up until now, La Crosse Airport was only served by American’s 3-daily flights from Chicago ORD. During the month, the airport also secured another new service, which will be launched by United on 7 May, also from Chicago ORD, operated 4-daily.
Located in western Wisconsin, La Crosse is a major draw for tourists due to its natural surroundings, including glaciers, rivers and parks. With a metropolitan population of just over 130,000, La Crosse serves as a commercial and transport hub for the surrounding tri-state area of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. It is the sixth busiest of eight commercial airports in Wisconsin in terms of passengers served.
