New Route of the Day – Americas (6 May 2024): American between Philadelphia and Nice

American inaugurated flights between Philadelphia and Nice on Monday 6 May. The 6,575-kilometre seasonal route will be maintained daily with the 285-seat 787-9 aircraft until 5 October. The oneworld member faces no competition between the two.

Flight AA746 departs Philadelphia at 21:00 local time, arriving in Nice at 10:55 local time the following morning. The return service, operating as flight AA747, takes off from Côte d’Azur Airport at 13:00 local time, touching back down in the US at 15:30 local time.

Philadelphia hosts American’s biggest Europe network

American will offer 15-daily nonstop flights from Philadelphia Airport to 14 European destinations this summer, marking the largest transatlantic schedule from the airport since 2019. Philadelphia serves as American’s biggest hub for European operations, although the overall number of routes served has fallen from 19 prior to the pandemic.

In addition to Nice, American’s European destinations from Philadelphia include Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Dublin, Lisbon, London LHR, Madrid, Paris CDG, Rome FCO, Venice, and Zurich. Seasonal daily services to Naples will launch on 5 June, while daily summer flights to Copenhagen will commence a day later.

American is introducing a total of four new European destinations to its network this year, three of which are from Philadelphia. The fourth is a new service between Dallas/Fort-Worth and Barcelona.
