United returns to Glasgow after seven years
United last served Glasgow until October 2019 and never resumed operations following the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. This time around, it planned to serve the city until the end of September but has since extended the season until late October.
It is the first scheduled service by a US airline between Glasgow and the United States since 2019. The returning flights build on United’s existing operations from Scotland including Edinburgh to New York EWR, Washington IAD and Chicago ORD.
Glasgow is targeting the introduction of flights to Los Angeles and Washington by 2028.
