Breeze introduced flights between Memphis and San Antonio on Friday 8 May. The 1,005-kilometre route will be maintained 2-weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, with the 137-seat A220-300 aircraft. The carrier is the sole operator between the two cities.

Flight MX1068 departs Memphis at 08:25 local time, arriving in San Antonio at 10:30. The return service, operating as flight MX1069, takes off at 11:30 local time, touching back down in Tennessee at 13:25.

What they said

David Neelman, Founder and CEO of Breeze, said: “Connecting our guests to great destinations through convenient, nonstop service is part of what makes flying Breeze so enjoyable. With so many exciting and historic attractions like the River Walk, the Alamo, amusement parks, and amazing food, we know our guests in Memphis will love this new service.”

Michael Keeney, Chairman of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, added: “Breeze Airways’ continued expansion is great news for MEM passengers. San Antonio ranked 4th on MEM’s list of top unserved destinations, so this a great opportunity for our travellers to fly nonstop.”

Memphis is Tennessee’s 2nd-busiest airport

Memphis Airport is perhaps best known for being FedEx’s top hub. In the past, it was also a hub for Northwest and Delta, which is why the airport had significantly more passengers than it does now. That is just the reality of its non-hub status.

Memphis welcomed 4.8 million passengers in 2025. The arrival of Breeze in May 2025 helped, along with the short-lived return of Viva. While the airport’s traffic was down slightly year-over-year, it was still above what was achieved before the pandemic in 2019. It was its second-best year since Delta closed its Memphis hub in 2013.

With 480,000 one-way seats, American is the leading operator. It accounts for 31% of the airport’s capacity, up by a point year-over-year. On the other hand, Breeze is the seventh-largest airline and now maintains flights to Pensacola, Raleigh/Durham and Tampa, in addition to San Antonio. The latter was most recently served by Frontier in 2018 and, before that, by Delta/Northwest.
