Allegiant Air back in Trenton after eight years

Allegiant Air began serving Trenton-Mercer Airport in November 2016, operating flights from Orlando SFB, Punta Gorda and St. Petersburg. However, the flights were discontinued by April 2018. This left Frontier Airlines as the only airline serving Trenton, which it has been doing since 2012.

Frontier Airlines currently serves three year-round and a further three seasonal routes from Trenton, with a 100% market share. Between September 2024 and August 2025, it handled 337,000 passengers on its Trenton flights.

Trenton is the capital city of the state of New Jersey. It has a population of just over 89,000. Trenton-Mercer is the third-busiest airport in the state, after New York EWR and Teterboro.
