New Routes of the Day (2 March 2026): Wizz Air’s new routes from Tirana

Tirana Airport with Wizz Air

Wizz Air launched two new routes from its Tirana base on Monday 2 March and Tuesday 3 March, to Stockholm ARN and Billund respectively. The 2,035-kilometre service to the Swedish capital will operate 3-weekly, on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, and compete against 3-weekly Ryanair rotations, while the 1,770-kilometre route to Billund will run 2-weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, without competition. Both will be operated by a mix of A320-family aircraft.

What they said

Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “This new route from Stockholm to Tirana reflects our ongoing commitment to offering passengers convenient and affordable travel options. Through our Customer First Compass initiative, we continue to place travellers at the heart of everything we do, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable journey from booking to arrival. We are excited to expand our network in Northern and Eastern Europe, creating a direct link between Sweden to the Albanian’s vibrant capital. This new service will provide more opportunities for Swedish travellers to explore Tirana’s historic squares, lively festivals, and surrounding natural beauty, while welcoming Albanian passengers to discover Stockholm’s stunning landscapes and Nordic charm. We are grateful to the growing number of travellers who choose Wizz Air and with many more exciting destinations to come, we say: Let’s Wizz!”

Wizz Air to launch another ten new Tirana routes

The addition of Stockholm ARN and Billund will be accompanied by Wizz Air’s introduction of a further ten new routes from Tirana. They include Bratislava, Catania, Kalamata, Alghero, Palma de Mallorca, Santander, Sofia, Tallinn, Vilnius and Warsaw RDO. The latter seven routes will be maintained on a seasonal summer basis, while the first three year-round.

In 2025, Wizz Air was Tirana’s largest airline by available seat capacity. It held a 53.8% share of total seats on scheduled services. However, this year it faces a strong challenge from Ryanair, which will open its own base in Tirana, resulting in the launch of 20 new routes.
