What they said
Valeria Rebasti, International Market Director at Volotea, said: “The new routes to Spain, Germany and France are the result of a detailed assessment of the destinations most in demand among both Tuscan passengers and international visitors travelling to Florence. They enable us to expand travel opportunities in both directions, for those departing from Tuscany and those choosing the region as their destination. Finally, I would like to thank Toscana Aeroporti, with which we have continued to pursue this growth strategy year after year since opening our Florence base in 2023.”
Roberto Naldi, CEO of Toscana Aeroporti, added: “The arrival of the second aircraft is an important demonstration of Volotea’s continued confidence in Florence Airport and its development prospects. Our partnership continues to grow and is firmly focused on the future, supporting the airport’s broader development. Through initiatives including the Masterplan 2035, we aim to provide Florence with increasingly modern and efficient infrastructure that meets the needs of the region and its international connectivity. We thank Volotea for once again choosing to invest in Florence and Tuscany.”
Volotea boosts Florence capacity by 10%
With two aircraft, six new routes and five countries served, Volotea consolidates its position as the largest airline at Florence Airport in terms of the number of destinations served.
Volotea is offering approximately 430,000 seats from Florence in 2026, representing an increase of 10% compared to last year.
The carrier’s Tuscany network in 2026 also includes flights from Pisa to Olbia, Nantes and Toulouse. The latter is a new addition, with flights set to launch on 6 November.
