New Routes of the Day (27 October 2025): Wizz Air’s new routes from Skopje

Wizz Air launched the first of several new routes from its Skopje base on Monday 27 October, increasing its total number of stationed aircraft in North Macedonia’s capital to six.
- 27 October: Stockholm ARN (2-weekly)
- 27 October: Bari (2-weekly)
- 28 October: Madrid (3-weekly)
- 28 October: Larnaca (2-weekly)
The LCC faces no competition on any of its new routes. It marks the first time Skopje has been linked to Bari, Madrid and Larnaca with a scheduled air service.
What they said
Nejat Kurt, General Manager of airport operator TAV Macedonia, said: “I’m very pleased that these new routes are being launched from Skopje, made possible with the support of the government and thanks to Wizz Air’s dedication. I’m confident these destinations will prove popular, and I’d like to add something very important – these new routes reflect the preferences of our passengers, of travellers who have long awaited direct connections between these cities and our two airports here in Macedonia. I also wish to thank our team at TAV Airports for their commitment and contribution in preparing these new destinations, which we can now proudly share with our passengers.”
Wizz Air is North Macedonia’s largest carrier
Wizz Air dominates the aviation landscape in North Macedonia, with an average market share of over 50%. The airline serves the country’s two international airports – Skopje and Ohrid. The two have been impacted by Wizz Air’s network cuts, implemented over the past year and a half in response to engine inspections on its A320neo fleet, which subsequently grounded a number of aircraft.
However, Wizz Air has now returned to growth, both in North Macedonia and elsewhere. The LCC will continue to build its Skopje network with the introduction on flights to Prague and Cologne on 15 December. This will be followed by the launch of Naples and Budapest on 30 March 2026.
Once the new routes are added in December, Wizz Air will serve 32 destinations from Skopje over the 2025/26 winter season.
