New Routes of the Day – Americas (21 November 2025): Allegiant Air’s new routes from Fort Myers

RSW new Allegiant Air routes

Allegiant Air commenced operations from Fort Myers in Florida to Appleton and Des Moines on Friday 21 November. Both the 2,060-kilometre Appleton service and the 1,990-kilometre Des Moines route will be maintained 2-weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, with the A320 aircraft. The carriers faces no competition on either of the two. It follows on from the introduction of flights between Allentown and Fort Myers on 13 November. It will further add flights between Fort Myers and Atlantic City on 11 December.

What they said

Drew Wells, Chief Commercial officer at Allegiant Air, said: “This expansion reflects our commitment to connecting underserved communities with affordable, convenient travel options. By adding Fort Myers and increasing service to multiple beach cities, we’re providing travellers nonstop access to sunny destinations, meaning they spend less time at the airport and more time on vacation.”

Steven C. Hennigan, Executive director and CEO of the Lee County Port Authority, added: “We want to extend Allegiant Air a warm welcome from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Allegiant begins service into RSW for the first time today from Allentown, Pennsylvania (ABE), Appleton, Wisconsin (ATW) and Des Moines, Iowa (DSM). These are new markets for Southwest Florida, and we look forward to visitors and our community having more nonstop options when they travel.”

Allegiant Air to launch 30 new routes

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air has unveiled plans to launch 30 new routes during the first half of 2026, including services to four new destinations. The announcement comes on the heels of the carrier’s largest network expansion to date in 2025, when it added more than 40 new routes across the United States.

As part of its continued growth strategy, Allegiant will further strengthen its presence in Fort Myers, introducing new flights to Chicago RFD, Rochester and Albany from February 2026. Since commencing operations in 1999, Allegiant has rapidly expanded its network and successfully built a niche in the US market, particularly at a time when many smaller airlines are finding it increasingly challenging to compete against major legacy carriers.
