Over seven million seats as Milan Bergamo Airport unveils winter network

Milan Bergamo Airport has commenced its 2025/26 winter season, which runs from 26 October to 28 March, offering a range of flights across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
More than 20 airlines will provide over 7.18 million seats during the season. Led by Ryanair and Wizz Air, which are the main operators at Bergamo, they are joined by a growing number of full-service and hybrid airlines, including Georgian Airways, Eurowings, flydubai, Pegasus Airlines and Italian leisure carrier Neos, contributing to a broader mix of destinations and travel options for passengers.
One of the key developments this winter is the continued expansion of Wizz Air, which is launching five new routes from Bergamo. The airline has introduced flights to Chisinau, starting 26 October, which will be followed by Bucharest-Baneasa on 31 October, Warsaw-Modlin from 2 December, Suceava on 15 December and Sibiu from 2 January. They complement Wizz Air’s existing network of 11 destinations served from the airport.
Leisure and mid-haul connectivity are also playing an increasingly important role in the airport’s development. Air Cairo will continue operating to Sharm el-Sheikh throughout the winter following strong demand since the route launched earlier this year.
flydubai will increase its service to Dubai to 2-daily from 16 December, offering greater access to the UAE and improved global connectivity through its extensive codeshare partnership with Emirates. Air Arabia is also strengthening its presence by increasing flights to Sharjah to up to 11-weekly during the peak holiday period.
Neos will maintain its weekly service to Dakar, a route that has established itself over time by serving Italy’s Senegalese community and attracting a growing volume of leisure travellers exploring West Africa.
The winter season also coincides with infrastructure upgrades at the airport. On 26 November, Milan Bergamo will open a new security area and duty-free zone as part of its passenger experience improvements. The new security checkpoint will be equipped with next-generation scanners, allowing passengers to keep liquids and electronic devices inside their hand luggage, significantly reducing waiting times and streamlining the airport journey.
Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation at SACBO, said: “We are pleased to enter the 2025/26 winter season with an even stronger and more diverse route network. The continued confidence of our airline partners reflects Milan Bergamo’s position as one of Europe’s most dynamic and efficient airports. With new routes, additional connectivity via major hubs and significant infrastructure upgrades, we remain committed to offering passengers greater choice, comfort and connectivity while supporting the region’s economic growth.”
