Prague Airport marks six decades of Lufthansa service

Prague Airport and Lufthansa have marked 60 years since the launch of the airline’s service to the Czech capital, with the first scheduled flight between Frankfurt and Prague taking place on 2 April 1966.
Over the decades, the route has evolved from a limited Cold War-era connection into one of the airline’s core Central European links, today forming part of its extensive hub-and-spoke network via Frankfurt and Munich.
To mark the anniversary, Prague Airport welcomed a Lufthansa Airbus A321 in a special retro livery, paying tribute to the airline’s historic branding from the jet age. The aircraft was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute upon arrival.

Both Prague Airport and Lufthansa boast a long-standing partnership, which has developed steadily over six decades.
