Qatar Airways Dreamliner makes return to Prague
Qatar Airways began operations on its Doha – Prague service with the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on Wednesday 10 January, marking the return of the wide-body jet previously utilised on the route prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 254-seat aircraft will increase capacity between the city pair by 44%. The Dreamliner will be deployed on the route on a daily basis, complementing the additional Qatar Airways flights to Prague on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays operated by the 132-seat A320 aircraft.
Speaking at a special ceremony held by Prague Airport to mark the occasion, Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport, said: “We are glad that Qatar Airways has decided to resume the Boeing Dreamliner operation on its Prague route. The aircraft was seen at our airport several times over the course of the last year, but its regular use on the route was prevented, despite the high demand, by the global shortage of aircraft. The Dreamliner will not only provide a significant increase in capacity by almost a half, which is a big advantage, for example, for connecting flights to Asia, but also offer more comfort and a more convenient way of travel. Last but not least, it will strengthen air cargo capacity.”
Qatar Airways has been serving Prague since August 2017 and now maintains 10-weekly flights to the Czech capital, enabling passengers from the Czech Republic and its catchment to travel more frequently to popular global destinations such as Bangkok, Manila, Shanghai, the Maldives and Phuket via its Doha hub.
