Volaire Aviation appoints new Air Service Development Director

US aviation consultancy Volaire Aviation, which helps airports and communities develop new air services and market their destinations to airlines, has appointed industry veteran David Doty as its new Director of Air Service Development. Doty brings more than twenty years of experience in commercial strategy and network planning, having previously held leadership positions at Southwest Airlines and United Airlines.
During his airline career, Doty worked across network planning, market forecasting, route profitability and commercial decision-making. Volaire said his experience would provide its clients with greater insight into how carriers assess new markets, prioritise opportunities and make network investment decisions.
Jack Penning, Managing Partner at Volaire Aviation, said: “Dave’s deep understanding of airline strategy and network planning makes him a tremendous addition to our talented team. His firsthand experience working within the airline industry provides valuable insight into how carriers evaluate opportunities and make network decisions, further strengthening our ability to help communities develop sustainable air service strategies and build meaningful partnerships with airlines.”
Doty is a third-generation pilot and began his aviation career managing flight school operations after obtaining his private pilot certificate.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida State University and will be based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Fishers, Indiana, Volaire Aviation uses data-driven analysis to support its clients’ air service development and marketing strategies.
