What they said
Alex Heiter, Director of Air Service Development at Tampa Airport, said: “Adding nonstop service to Costa Rica is a milestone we’ve been working toward for years, and now it’s finally a reality. This route connects the Tampa Bay community to a popular vacation destination, strengthens our business ties with a vibrant trade partner, and gives our travellers an easy way to reach friends and family in Central America.”
Breeze to expand international flights from Tampa
This new route reflects strong ties between Tampa Bay and Costa Rica. Each day, about 134 people travel between Tampa and the Central American nation.
San Jose is one of many international destinations that Breeze has (or will soon offer) at Tampa Airport.
Earlier this year, the airline launched nonstop flights from Tampa to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Nassau, in the Bahamas. Breeze plans to offer two more international routes by the end of 2026, with service to Cancun in Mexico and Montego Bay, Jamaica, set to begin in December.
By the end of 2026, Breeze will provide travellers with nearly 40 total nonstop destinations from Tampa Airport.
